Christmas Outfits Challenge 2017: Day 6

Do you ever feel like an outfit is just too nice for the occasion you’re wearing it for? Like, you should be saving it for some really fancy event, like a nice party, but you haven’t got any of those coming up, so you’re stuck wearing it on a day that’s just like any other?

Granted, last Thursday wasn’t entirely a day just like any other – it was my last day of classes, so that made it a bit more of an occasion.

Still, I can’t help but feel like this outfit deserved to be seen by more than just the other kids in my history seminar and astronomy class. Granted, it’s not like I, a boring college student, have any fancy holiday parties to be going to (and the only parties here aren’t exactly the kind where you wear your scratchiest Christmas sweater and your carpetbag skirt), so it was as a good a day as any to wear this particular Christmas outfit…but you know. I like finding things to complain about.

What I can’t complain about, though, it the snowfalll we got on Thursday!

I’m a sucker for snow; maybe it’s because I grew up on Kentucky, where we only got it a couple of times a year (if we were lucky – last year we got none), and I just haven’t gotten the chance to get tired of it. I don’t know though – the snow fell on Thursday, and even now, on Tuesday when I’m writing this blog, I’m still pretty excited when I look out the window and see how pearly and white everything is outside.

Fun fact: I’ve yet to have a white Christmas. The closest I ever came was once, when I was a kid, it had snowed in Kentucky a few days before Christmas, and it seemed to be lasting – the problem though, was that I wasn’t in Kentucky that year for Christmas. My family went into Nevada to celebrate with my aunt. There was no snow in Nevada.

It seems I’ll have the reverse experience this year – the snow may stick in Northern Indiana, but I’m of course going to be back in Kentucky. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll snow in KY though. I don’t have my hopes up, but we’ll see. There’s always time for a Christmas miracle, right?

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next one with more updates on my life here at Notre Dame. Don’t forget to check me out on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr! For business inquiries, shoot me an email at lensembledujour@gmail.com!
